Reaching Out to Local Communities!

The Windstar Connection Program is a regional grassroots outreach program of the Windstar Foundation. Each Windstar Connection is an individual non-profit corporation whose mission is to inspire individuals in their local areas to make responsible choices and take direct personal actions to achieve a peaceful and environmentally sustainable future.

The Windstar Connections Program was founded out of the inspiration of the 1988 Windstar Choices for the Future Symposium. Connections create a focused opportunity for individuals around the world to act together for a common goal.

Windstar Connections meet, network, and carry out projects and forums of an action-oriented, educational nature. Fundamental goals include raising environmental awareness around the world and developing leadership potential in all people, so that we can be more involved, informed responsible citizens.

In 1994, the Windstar Connection program adopted the following vision statement: "Windstar Connections inspire, model and teach responsibility for a sustainable future."

Connection groups are organized and developed by individuals to work at the local level, in alignment with the Windstar Foundation, on issues of global importance.
