• "I'm Stuck"...Windstar EARTHcamp Curriculum
  Objective: This is what it feels like when a bird gets tangled in fishing line or plastic rings.
  Materials: Rubber bands
  Activity: Have the kids slip a rubber band over their thumb, around the back of their hand and over their little finger. Then ask them to get the rubber band off….NOT USING THEIR OTHER HAND. The point? See if they can figure out that this represents that condition wildlife finds itself in when faced with fishing line or six pack plastic rings.

Teacher Evaluation

1. The student used the journal question as a reflection after the program.

3. The student went through the process of dissecting an owl pellet either on-line or in the classroom. The student used the scientific process to observe, hypothesize, plan, experiment, and record their results.
4. The student participated in "I'm Stuck" simulating how trash can become hazardous or deadly for birds and animals.
