Sculpted by noted artist Sue DiCicco, a larger than life statue was unveiled during the 2002 Open House at the Windstar Land Conservancy, in Snowmass, CO. The statue's unveiling and dedication took place during the week-long series of events that have become a traditional celebration of John Denver's life, his music and his commitment to the environment. The dedication commemorated the fifth anniversary of the accident that took his life.
Along with the education programs that bring the message of personal choice and responsibility to children and adults, this inspiring statue is a symbol of John Denver's dedication to Windstar and its ideals.
