For Educators and The Public  Educational, inspiring and very popular Windstar Symposiums, "Choices for your Future", were held from 1986 - 1995. Hosted by John Denver, they were attended by folks across the country who came to hear such renowned speakers as: Ted Turner, David Brower, Whoopi Goldberg, Jean Michal Cousteau, Dick Gregory, Jean Holmes (see milestones)Windstar was often asked to again host this type of high-quality, informational event. Those requests led to the birth of the "New Choices for Your Future" Symposiums in 2004. We have held three successful events to the local audience to Snowmass, Colorado. Multi generational audiences have been updated to new environmental topics by todays top speakers / organizations such as: Dr. Jane Goodall, Bill Nye, Amory Lovins, Lyle Estill, The Hunger Project, Greenpeace, Defenders of Wildlife and Ocean Futures.  Improving on the original design and using todays technology, we added another dimension to the current Symposiums. We wanted it to be more than a local event and went on to ask KIDZONLINE and DISH NETWORK to bring it to the globe....which they were excited about and donated their time and technology to carry it via the Internet and on a live Dish channel feed. In addition, we realized that the educational value of this event was to good to disappear when the day's event ended so we went on to offer a complete science educational package for middle and high school teachers. We launched the videos of each speakers presentations, wrote accompany curriculum for teachers to be able to use this event as well. The educational aspect of this goes on long after the event itself. Speakers chosen and Curriculum designed to meet National Science Standards for Middle and High School Science Students. We are pleased to announce that the Windstar curriculum written for the 2004 Symposium, "New Choices for Your Future" has been added to the Understanding by Design Exchange by the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.
