Environmental Policy
The Windstar UK Connection is committed to achieving continuous environmental improvement in all our activities. We will strive to reduce our own impact on the environment and make every effort to work with our communities to do so.
We will apply the following working principles in delivering our Environmental Policy:
- Promote awareness and a sense of environmental responsibility amongst our members and people and organisations with whom we work – leading by example.
- Liaise with the local authority and with other organisations on environmental issues.
- Assess the environmental impact of all existing and proposed activities, policies and practices.
- Take steps to review and manage all significant environmental effects.
- Encourage and work with our members and people and organisations with whom we work to help them apply environmental standards equivalent to our own.
- Seek to prevent pollution and environmental accidents from our activities.
- Comply and where possible, exceed environmental legislation.
Our environmental aims are:
Minimise resource consumption by;
- Reducing the amount of waste we produce through reducing our consumption.
- Promoting recycling and encourage the use of goods that can be purchased and disposed of in an environmentally responsible way.
- Practice responsible water and energy management.
Promote more sustainable forms of transport by;
- Encouraging the best environmental option such as walking, cycling, the use of public transport and car sharing.
